Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback is a research-backed method for improving cognitive function, helping with symptom reduction, and so much more.
Neurofeedback (NFB) therapy is a form of brain training used to directly improve your health by regulating brain function.
Sensors on the scalp measure brain waves and send this data to a computer that provides visual and auditory feedback in real time. The brain observes the positive or negative feedback and learns to improve its own self-regulation. Feedback is seamlessly embedded into engaging media such as movies, TV shows, and video games.
As you begin to self-regulate, you will begin to experience not only symptom reduction, but more clarity, less reactivity, better focus, and more. NFB does not change who you are, it does not suppress any normal emotions, but rather it increases brain flexibility and disrupts dysregulatory patterns that are established throughout life. NFB is a workout for the brain, resulting in increased flexibility, control, resilience, and strength.
NFB is based on Operant Conditioning
Operant conditioning is a method of learning that employs rewards for positive behavior. Through operant conditioning, an association is made between a behavior and a consequence (whether negative or positive) for that behavior
